Construction is well underway on The History Center at Magnolia Springs State Park with goals to open the first phase of the building in late fall or early winter of this year.

David Clark, chief of engineering and construction, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Parks Division, said that the project will be more than a museum, thus the name "History Center."

Georgia's DNR Search and Rescue Team is often given little thought or consideration until a crisis arises. The same goes for this Friends chapter whose mission is to help supply and support this vital team in every way possible. Friends of DNR Search and Rescue is truly a unique chapter filled with much passion and determination to make a difference in Georgia.

Friends group volunteers are hard at work at Cloudland Canyon State Park making steady improvements and truly making a difference for their beloved park. In supporting such a large, scenic park, one of the largest tasks is volunteering to properly maintain and create new trails. However, without the necessary tools, their concerted efforts cannot be maximized. By raising funds combined with funds from State Friends, Friends of Cloudland Canyon were able to purchase approximately one thousand dollars in the tools that they needed to better assist their efforts.
