Park Ranger Of The Year

Ranger Jason Webb has significantly improved the 2,508-acre park on Lake Richard B. Russell. His projects include repairing a six-inch waterline in under six hours, overseeing the complex repair of a 1,000-gallon septic tank, and supporting prescribed burn teams. He also assisted other state parks with storm damage response, tree removal, and bridge repair. Jason's leadership and positive attitude inspire his team, and he shares his expertise as a teacher at the Department of Natural Resources Career Academy.

Volunteers At Work
  • Friends Of Chattahoochee Bend- Through the Passport grant repaired beams on the Bobwhite bridge at the park. 
  • Friends Of General Coffee- Through the Passport grant replaced a fence around the garden at the park. 
  • Friends Of Hard Labor Creek- Through the Passport grant purchased kayaks, archery equipment and dog waste stations at the park.
