Friends do not have a login for members at this time. To renew your membership, please click here, or renew at any Georgia State Park. 

The GA State ParkPass covers parking in any Georgia State Park, but that's all it includes. There are no additional benefits. With a Friends of GA State Parks and Historic Sites membership, however, you not only get an annual parking pass(es), but you get additional benefits depending on the level of membership you choose. Click here to purchase a Friends membership. 

If you have a reservation coming up within the next 7-10 days you may purchase your membership at the park and they will be able to apply all of your free nights and/or discounts. However, the procedures are a bit complicated due to self-distancing and following CDC guidelines. We suggest calling the park ahead of time to see what protocols are in place. Anyone 62 years or older is eligible for the Senior discount on any Friends membership. 

During your early renewal, please be sure to list the month your current membership expires in the notes section during checkout. This ensures your membership date to start when your previous membership ends. 

If you have misplaced or lost your membership material, please contact our office at 770-383-8900 to verify your account in order to receive a replacement.

Please include your name, address, phone number, and if applicable your rewards ID located on the back of your new rewards card. Stickers must be submitted to the above address before 12/31/18.

Membership discounts such as 10% off overnight stays cannot be combined with other discounts available at the parks such as existing senior discounts or specials.

Your membership should arrive via first class mail in one to two weeks. If you have not received your material by this time frame, please contact our office at 770-383-8900.

If you are interested in upgrading your membership, please contact 770-383-8900. You simply pay the difference between the two levels and our staff will mail the new membership material to you with the existing expiration date.

The 2019 current blackout dates are the following:

  • Memorial Day - May 24th - May 27th, 2019
  • Independence Day- June 28th - July 8th, 2019
  • Labor Day- August 30th- September 2nd, 2019
  • Thanksgiving - November 27 - December 1, 2019
  • Christmas/New Year - December 20, 2019 through January 1, 2020

The blackout dates for free camping for 2020 are:

  • Memorial Day: 22, 23, and 24th
  • Independence Dat: July 3rd, 4th and 5th
  • Labor Day: September 4th, 5th and 6th
  • Thanksgiving: November 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th
  • Christmas: December 24th and 25th 

We reserve the right to change or ammend the blackout dates from time to time without notice.

Additionally, some parks may have blackout dates around certain events.  Be sure to check with the park before making your reservations to be sure.


A Friends of Georgia State Parks membership is recognized at all Georgia state parks and historic sites operated by the Parks & Historic Sites Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.  For a complete list, visit

Your free night(s) of camping will be applied when you check in.  Make your reservation as you normally would for camping.  You will need to pay any required deposit(s).  Then, when you check in for your stay, simply present your Friends membership card and your free night(s) will be credited to your stay!


Please be sure to bring your membership card when checking in for your reservation. This is required to redeem the free night of camping!
