From trail cleanups to special events, Friends of Victoria Bryant have been making a big impact at their park. Their work keeps trails clear, programs running, and community connections strong. From spontaneous day trips to years-long treks, Sam Darby and Yuri Hinson have officially visited every Georgia State Park. Sam completed his 14-month journey at Crooked River, starting at Amicalola Falls in 2024. Yuri took a steady path over three and a half years, from Providence Canyon to Victoria Bryant. Tucked off Leverett Hill Road, a quiet gravesite tells the story of Daisy Bonner, who cooked President Roosevelt’s first and last meals at the Little White House. After his passing in 1945, she left a simple message on the kitchen wall:
“Daisy Bonner cook the first meal and the last for President Roosevelt in this cottage.”

Now, efforts are underway to restore Daisy and Jack Bonner’s gravesite with a new border, interpretive sign, and long-overdue care. Help honor this legacy and preserve a piece of history.
