Special Events has been added to the Annual Christmas in Plains Train Ride on SAM Shortline Railroad.
A historic 1925 railcar, The Dearing, has been added to the SAM Shortline Railroad consist.
The Dearing will be used for two fundraisers to benefit Friends of SAM Shortline.
At 11:30 am to 1PM, a Welcome Brunch will be held using the Dearing and SAM's Americus Railcars.
The Train will depart at 3PM in route to Plains where President and Mrs. Carter are scheduled to turn on the City's Christmas lights.
There will be a Christmas Parade as well as food vendors and the local shops will be open.
Patrons who ride on The Dearing will be treated to a world class meal on the return trip to Georgia Veterans State Park Depot.
