Moonshine Festival
Moonshining has been part of rural life across Georgia since the late 1700s — a way for farmers to turn surplus grain into an income and, during Prohibition, one of the region’s most resilient underground industries. In the hills and hollows of northeast Georgia, including Franklin County, the production and consumption of moonshine had a profound impact on local economies, culture, and folklore.
Join Friends of Tugaloo State Park on March 14 for the Moonshine Festival as we celebrate that colorful history. There will be plenty of food trucks, sweet treats, craft vendors, and live music.
We are still accepting vendor applications. If you are interested, please APPLY HERE.
If you plan to participate in the moonshine tastings, you must sign the liability waiver. Upon arrival at the event, please provide a photo ID that contains your date of birth and your event ticket.
