Experience one of Red Top Mountain State Park's most dramatic traditions as molten iron is poured into custom molds during a live evening iron pour. Watch the process up close, enjoy activities throughout the day, and even create a design of your own by purchasing a scratch block.

A valid Georgia State Park pass is required. A $10 daily ParkPass or an annual ParkPass may be purchased upon arrival.

Create Your Own Cast-Iron Design

 

Purchase a scratch block and carve your own design into the mold. During the iron pour, molten iron is poured into your finished mold, creating a one-of-a-kind cast-iron piece to take home.

How It Works

 
1 Purchase your scratch block online.
 
2 Your name will be added to the scratch block pickup list.
 
3 Pick up your block at the Park Visitor Center between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on October 24.
 
4 Carve your design and return your completed block by 4:00 PM.
 
5 Watch your design come to life during the Iron Pour from 4:00 PM–8:00 PM.
