It's not unusual for Georgians to run from the heat of the summer, or at least attempt to spend most of the day cooling off indoors. However, it's without question that the summer sun makes Georgia come alive! The bright sun and beautiful green forests are lush with healthful vegetation and plenty of wildlife to discover.
So it's perhaps not quite a surprise to learn that July brought some of Georgia's biggest nature lovers to the north Georgia mountains to gladly brave the summer heat! Governor and Mrs. Deal brought their family for a summer excursion to Cloudland Canyon State Park to explore some of the state’s most beautiful natural resources. It was a wonderful time for all and Friends of Cloudland Canyon had the pleasure of presenting the family with a one-of-a-kind pottery tray as a token of gratitude for visiting the park.
Thank you Governor and Mrs. Deal for your support for Friends and for Georgia's natural resources!
