Volunteers with the Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park are helping create an exciting new way for visitors to explore one of Georgia's premier outdoor destinations.
The new trail is expected to be completed in time for the opening of the park's brand-new office and visitor center this fall. Once the facility opens, visitors will be able to rent mountain bikes at the park office and immediately access the trail system, making it even easier to experience everything Cloudland Canyon has to offer.
As always, the project wouldn't be possible without the dedication of Friends volunteers. While scouting park boundaries to determine the best route for the new trail, longtime volunteers RJ Burick and Ann Yearout were rewarded with a memorable discovery—a tiny baby toad tucked away along the route. It's a fitting reminder that every trail project not only improves access for visitors but also offers opportunities to appreciate the incredible wildlife that calls Cloudland Canyon home.
