Friends of Chattahoochee Bend Celebrate Meaningful Partnerships on Arbor Day

In celebration of Arbor Day, Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park partnered with the Newnan Rotary Club and Tree Protection Supply Company to multiply their efforts in preservation and beautification of Georgia's newest state park. Together, these organizations worked together in planting 100 trees through the park in honor of Arbor Day.

In great generosity, the Newnan Rotary Club purchased 50 oak and 50 wax myrtle saplings from the State Forestry Division to be planted throughout the park. The Tree Protection Supply Company donated 100 tree protectors and attended this special volunteer event, demonstrating valuable tree planting techniques to ensure proper embedding.

This volunteer day was a great success with about 60 volunteer working together with shovels, post diggers and high spirits in accomplishing a wonderful preservation and beautification project for Chattahoochee Bend State Park. Special thanks is extended to all those who contributed their time in resources in making this such a great success.
