Hayrides, fall festivals, and school fieldtrips are all happening this month at Georgia's state parks. Rangers are staying busy offering guided hikes, identifying various plants and animals that call their parks "home." Friends chapter and volunteers throughout the state are offering park guests more programming and exciting opportunities in support of their favorite sites.
Many schools are taking advantage of the great resources at our state's parks and historic sites to give kids a hands-on education. Learning about our state's history or discovering Georgia's many wonders at a park is an unforgettable education.

Now is a great time to join a Friends chapter for the opportunity to give back to your communities through volunteer efforts. For many volunteers, serving at various events is a family affair but for others, it's an opportunity to meet some amazing new friends.
As the new season comes charging, it is time to seize the opportunity to enjoy the changing temperature and celebrate the beauty that is transforming before our very eyes. Whether you're ready for a weekend get-a-way of festivals and camping or a day excursions to experience some apple bobbing or hayrides, there are hosts of festive activities and opportunities perfect for all ages.
