Friends is pleased to announce the 2011 Chapter Grants have been awarded! For the second year in a row, memberships and donations have allowed Friends to award grants to chapters across the state for much needed site improvements. This year the grants are especially important due to the over $100 million backlog in maintenance and repair impacting Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites. Chapters are able to put this money to use with locally raised funds to make a real difference in their respective parks and historic sites. The result of the grants program will be over $271,000 in site improvements! In addition to these grants, many chapters also received smaller grants for smaller projects. Read on to see the grant recipients.
