Whether working hard at large building projects, site improvements, or program support, Friends of Amicalola Falls contribute tireless efforts in supporting their favorite site. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed and with their help, and that of Amicalola's park staff, Amicalola Falls is thriving and welcoming millions of visitors every year.

Friends of Amicalola has already hosted fantastic programs this year, such as special entertainment for New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day, provided new park signage, new blinds for the park's restaurant, repairing roads, purchasing new leaf blowers, and dozens of other programs and improvements.

Perhaps one of their largest projects centered on renovations and improvements for the campground.

Through raising funds combined with funds received from State Friends, the Friends chapter at Amicalola Falls worked to restore and renovate three campground restrooms and the laundry room. Tiles in five shower stalls were replaced, three front facings of vanities were replaced in the restrooms, shower heads and nozzles were replaced, and the restroom floors were re-sealed.

Hand driers, toilets, lighting, and heaters were all replaced in the restrooms as well. Horseshoe pits in the campgrounds received some needed renovations and many railings were repainted and or replaced. Not only do all of these renovations look fantastic and increase the quality experience of park guest's, but they are also much easier for the park staff to maintain.

Currently, this Friends chapter is also working on the installation of new washers and dryers for the campground's laundry room. Many "thanks" to this active Friends chapter for their dedication and efforts. Make sure to visit Amicalola Falls to enjoy all of these, plus other, renovations or enjoy one of the many programs hosted throughout the year. Don't forget to visit their Website and Facebook group to see their latest projects or find out how you can become more involved at this fantastic Georgia state park.
