Smithgall Woods State Park’s annual Sunflowers & Selfies festival, a fundraiser for the Cabin Fever campaign, will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday over two weekends (August 27 – 29 and September 03 -05) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the park’s main entrance, located at 61 Tsalaki Trail, Helen, GA.

A much-awaited annual event, Sunflowers & Selfies, promises to deliver on a family-fun day of hayrides, games, photo ops, a photo contest, and of course, our blooming field of sunflowers. Learn about the park and its history through our knowledgeable guides as you enjoy the beauty of Smithgall Woods State Park on your hayride through the park or enjoy at your own pace. Our guides might even tell you the “real truth” behind who really discovered gold first, long before the “gold rush.”

Hayrides are $5 per person, 12 and younger free.

Sunflowers will be for sale, as well as artisan vases, originally crafted by one of our talented volunteers.

All proceeds will go toward Smithgall’s Cabin Fever campaign, launched to acquire and restore a historic log cabin on-site. Once completed, the cabin will offer educational opportunities to learn more about the area, and the park’s, rich history.

Parking is $5 a car (passes do not apply). This event is weather permitting.

We invite you to enjoy our beautiful park to support a very worthy cause and enjoy our field of sunflowers grown especially for you.
