Outdoors Beyond Barriers

Outdoors Beyond Barriers

A message from the Georgia Department Of Natural Resources:

"The Georgia Department Of Natural Resources outdoor Beyond Barriers (OBB) adaptive program seeks to educate, encourage and empower those with mobility impairments to connect with nature by providing gateway to enjoy hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreational opportunities. The OBB program will teach skills and provide the necessary tools to become independent users of Georgia's natural resources."

As part of this ongoing initiative, Georgia State Parks has partnered with the Aimee Copeland Foundation to provide free, high-mobility all-terrain wheelchairs at state parks, historical sites, and a wildlife center.

A note from Andy Fleming: "We had a blast hiking the red, purple, and blue trails at Pickett’s Mill yesterday! Three generations were able to have a walk in the woods together! Thank you for the opportunity and memories!"

Friends is honored to help this initiative.
