Winter solitude. New Echota State Historic Site is a lovely place to enjoy the chill of the winter season and natural beauty covered in snow. Mother Nature may be experiencing some hibernation, but park staff and Friends volunteers are staying busy to keep this special place welcoming for you in every season. Thanks to funding from Friends, a new picket fence around the Visitors Center has recently been completed, among many other projects. In fact, make sure to delve into the latest edition of "The New Echota Phoenix" (see link below) to learn about the latest updates at this site as well as a listing of volunteer opportunities available to you each month! Friends is honored to welcome you for some special volunteer projects in order to preserve and enhance this treasured historic site. Thank you for your support for Friends.

Important Update:
Beginning March 1 2015, New Echota will be open Wednesday through Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. This is a great achievement to be able to add operating hours on Wednesdays to accommodate your families, as well as more school groups to this site.
